Ujire, Jan 14, 2026: A two-day theatre festival organised under the aegis of Samuha Ujire , was held on January 6 and 7 at the Vanaranga open-air theatre in Ujire. The event featured performances by the touring theatre troupe of Ninasam, Heggodu.

The festival presented two plays with distinct themes, styles, and narrative approaches. “Avataranam Bhrantalayam,” based on a Malayalam work by G. Shankar Pillai, translated by Dr. Na. Damodara Shetty and directed by Shankar Venkateshwar, was staged on the first day. The second production, “Hridayada Theerpu,” directed by Dr. M. Ganesh, was based on a short story by writer Banu Mushtaq.

Both productions drew appreciation from theatre enthusiasts and art lovers.

Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, and Hemavathi V. Heggade were present at the event. Members of Samuha Ujire, students, and members of the public also attended the performances.
