Mangaluru, September 11, 2025: Students of Expert Pre-University College, Mangaluru, have recorded a remarkable achievement in medical and technical education admissions this year. In the first round of counselling, 15 students secured seats at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and 11 at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
In a press statement College Chairman Prof. Narendra L. In all, 78 students got admission under the All-India quota and 478 under the state quota, totalling 556 MBBS admissions in the first round itself. In addition, 51 students secured seats in prestigious institutions for BDS, creating what Prof. Nayak described as a “new milestone” in the college’s history.
Among the achievers, Nikhil Sonnad, who scored 670 out of 720, secured admission at AIIMS, New Delhi. Nine students gained seats at JIPMER Puducherry, while five were admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. One student each was selected to AIIMS Rishikesh, Bhopal, Gorakhpur, Mangalagiri and Guwahati. Two each were admitted to AIIMS Madurai, Jodhpur, Nagpur, and JIPMER Karaikal.
Prof. Nayak noted that nearly 99 percent of the students at the college qualified for medical education this year, with more likely to secure seats in the subsequent rounds of counselling.
The success extended beyond medicine, with four students gaining admission to IITs, one to IIIT, and 18 to NITs. Congratulating the achievers, Prof. Nayak said the results reflected the institution’s growing reputation in the academic field.
