 MAHE Rises in Global Rankings, Excels in Sustainability and Research

Manipal, June 20,2025: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed-to-be-University, has once again reinforced its global academic and research stature by achieving improved positions in three of the world’s most prestigious university rankings: the QS World University Rankings 2026, Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, and the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2025–26.

These achievements underscore MAHE’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, sustainability, and global collaboration, marking a significant milestone in its international journey.

MAHE’s overall global standing in the QS World University Rankings 2026 advanced to the 851–900 band, improving from the 901–950 band in the 2025 edition. Among 1,501 ranked institutions worldwide, this upward movement reflects substantial gains in key performance indicators. The university ranked 379th globally and 4th in India for faculty-student ratio. Its sustainability score rose markedly from 5.8% to 14.9%, while its score in the international research network reached 16.9%, with a global indicator score of 73.7.

In the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, MAHE retained its position in the 101–200 global band among over 2,300 participating institutions. This performance reaffirms MAHE’s leadership in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university ranked 74th globally for SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 43rd for SDG 4 (Quality Education), and an impressive 11th for SDG 5 (Gender Equality), securing the top spot in India in this category for the second consecutive year.

In the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2025–26, MAHE improved its global rank to 802, up from 804 in 2024. This ranking evaluated over 2,250 institutions across more than 100 countries. Regionally, MAHE ranked 253rd among the best universities in Asia and 15th in India.
