Dharmasthala, April 24, 2025: Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, President of SDM Educational Institutions, has extended his congratulations to Shraddha Shetty, a student of SDM College, Ujire, for earning a place in the India Book of Records for creating the largest floral rangoli.

Hailing from Eninje in Belthangady taluk, Shraddha—daughter of Shekhar Shetty—crafted a circular rangoli with a diameter of 8 feet (246 cm) using a vibrant mix of flower petals including rose and jasmine. The artwork was completed in 1 hour and 39 minutes, showcasing her dedication and creativity.

A third-year B.Sc. student, Shraddha was inspired and supported by her parents and faculty members in achieving this rare feat. Recognising her accomplishment, Dr. Heggade praised her effort, calling it a testament to her hard work and commitment.

Shraddha’s inclusion in the India Book of Records not only brings honour to her and her family but also adds to the growing list of achievements by students of SDM institutions.
