Kuvempu’s Works Reflect Life’s Depth and Vastness: Udupi DC
Udupi, Dec. 31, 2024: Rashtrakavi Kuvempu’s literary masterpieces such as Sri Ramayana Darshanam, Malegalalli Madumagalu, and Kanuru Heggadithi capture the profound depth and vastness of life, stated Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidya Kumari.
She was speaking at the Vishwa Manava Dinacharane celebration organized in honor of Kuvempu at the Manipal Rajatadri District Office auditorium. The event, hosted by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of Kannada and Culture, began with a symbolic floral tribute to Kuvempu’s portrait.
Dr. Vidya Kumari praised Kuvempu’s contribution to Kannada and Indian literature, emphasizing his role in fostering Kannada pride among people. She highlighted that Kuvempu’s works have left an indelible mark on literature and continue to inspire generations.
The event saw participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner Mamatha Devi G.S., District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Neelavara Surendra Adiga, Media Secretary Narasimhamurthy, district office staff, and other dignitaries.
Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department, Poornima, welcomed the attendees, managed the proceedings, and proposed the vote of thanks.
