Special Campaign Launched to Enforce Food Safety Regulations in Udupi
Udupi, Aug 30, 2024: The District Food Safety and Standards Authority has launched a special campaign aimed at ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. This initiative mandates all businesses involved in food production, including hotels, bakeries, grocery stores, food manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors, to obtain necessary licenses or registrations under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The campaign underscores the importance of maintaining food safety and hygiene for public health. It emphasizes strict adherence to the Food Safety Act’s standards, which prohibit the use of artificial colors in food. Additionally, businesses must store eggs, fish, and meat products at appropriate temperatures and ensure their safe and hygienic delivery to consumers.
Food safety officials will collect food samples for laboratory testing as part of this campaign. The Food Safety and Standards Authority’s office has urged food businesses to cooperate with food safety officers to ensure compliance with these regulations.
