Udupi, Jan 05, 2023: Udupi is gearing up for the grand Puthige Paryaya Mahotsava at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha.

Udupi Deputy Commissioner K Vidya Kumari chaired a preparatory meeting at her office in Rajathadri, Manipal, outlining plans to ensure a seamless experience for tourists, devotees, and the general public within the city during the festival.

During the meeting, the Dc stressed the importance of completing road and infrastructure projects promptly to facilitate smooth vehicular movement. She emphasized the need for a robust plan to avoid disruptions in traffic and ensure the provision of essential amenities.

With an estimated daily participation of 50,000-60,000 devotees, cleanliness emerged as a top priority. The municipal corporation is tasked with organizing facilities such as toilets, sanitation, and solid waste disposal throughout the city. Considering the Paryaya Mahotsava program scheduled for the night, the Dc highlighted the necessity of well-lit streets, temporary toilets, and reliable water supply.

To enhance the overall experience, Kumari directed the opening of information counters in Sri Krishna Matha’s parking premises, offering details about local tourist attractions. Helplines and also LED screens displaying precautionary measures at tourist spots will also be set up. She directed the KSRTC and tourism department to arrange Special buses to assist tourists in visiting various attractions.

Additionally, officials were instructed to create departmental tableaux promoting government schemes and programs for participation in the Prayotsava procession.

Parking facilities for tourists, the public, and devotees will be available at designated locations, including Board High School, Church School, MGM Ground, Beedinagudde Maidan, Ammani Ramanna Shetty Hall ground, Town Hall, and other suitable places.

The meeting was attended by Additional DC Mamatha Devi GS, SP Dr. Arun K, ASP Siddhalingappa, MAHE Pro-Chancellor Dr. HS Ballal, former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, and Nagaraja Acharya of Puthige Matha, among others.
