St. Agnes College Students Hold Cleanliness Campaign in Mangaluru
Mangaluru, September 24, 2023: In a proactive move towards a cleaner and healthier city, Agnes Towards Community (ATC) a student led initiative of St. Agnes College (Autonomous) embarked on a dedicated cleanliness campaign on September 23, 2023.
This effort was driven by the students’ ardent desire to rid the city of plastic waste and unregulated dumping.
The campaign kickstarted at 11.45 am with students eagerly taking up the mantle to ensure the city’s pristine condition. Their designated areas for cleanup encompassed key localities including Kadri, Mallikatte, Shivabhagh, Bendorewell, and Kankanady. Under the guidance of their mentors, the students worked diligently to effect positive change.
Recognizing the vital role cleanliness plays in a city’s progress, it was evident that the streets were marred by the presence of plastic waste, discarded bottles, wrappers, and other debris. This unsightly situation not only hampers the city’s aesthetic appeal but also poses health risks to its residents.
With a keen sense of civic responsibility, St. Agnes College took it upon themselves to lead by example. Their mission extended beyond mere cleanup, seeking to raise awareness about the imperative need for a clean and hygienic environment. By spearheading this campaign, the college aspires to contribute significantly towards the overall development of the city.
