More Flights, More Choices: Mangaluru’s Fifth Daily Bengaluru Flight Starts Sept 7
Mangaluru, September 4, 2023: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) is gearing up to provide passengers with enhanced travel options as it announces the addition of daily flights to Bengaluru during weekdays and an extra flight on Saturdays, commencing September 7, 2023.
The new flight services, to be operated by IndiGo, will be in effect until October 28, 2023, further boosting connectivity between Mangaluru and the state capital, Bengaluru.
Presently, IndiGo operates four daily flights to Bengaluru from Mangaluru, and this expansion marks the airline’s commitment to bolstering connectivity on this popular route.
Additional Flight Details
IndiGo is set to reintroduce flight 6E 6858 from September 7, 2023, adding a fifth daily flight on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. This flight will arrive at Mangaluru at 8.35 am and depart for Bengaluru as flight 6E 5347 at 9.10 am, complementing the existing flight schedule.
The sixth flight to Bengaluru on Saturdays is the outcome of IndiGo’s strategic adjustments to the operation days and times of its Mangaluru-Pune flight, which will now operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, and Saturday. Flight 6E 294 will arrive at Mangaluru at 5.50 pm and depart for Pune as flight 6E 298 at 6.35 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. On Saturdays, flight 6E 359 will arrive at Mangaluru from Bengaluru at 5.50 pm and later depart for Pune as flight 6E 298 at 6.35 pm.
Increased Flight Movements
An airport spokesperson commented, “The changes in flight schedules on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru and Mangaluru-Pune sectors will increase daily international and domestic flight movements from 38 to 40 from Monday to Friday and 40 to 42 on Saturday and Sunday.” This expansion signifies the airport’s dedication to enhancing regional connectivity and passenger convenience.
Furthermore, the airport is actively engaging with other airlines to introduce more flights to Mangaluru International Airport. Positive discussions have taken place, and new flight services are expected to materialize in the winter schedule, commencing from October 29, 2023.
Passengers traveling between Mangaluru and Bengaluru can now look forward to more flexible travel options and increased flight frequencies as Mangaluru International Airport continues to evolve into a thriving hub for air travel in the region.
