Holiday for schools and colleges in a few Taluks of Uttara Kannada on July 26
Karwar, July 25, 2023: With the Meteorological Department issuing a heavy rainfall warning for Coastal Karnataka, the Uttara Kannada district administrations have taken necessary precautions by declaring a holiday for schools and PU colleges in a few Taluks on July 26.
As per the order, due to heavy rain schools and PU Colleges in Karwar, Joida, Haliyal, Honnavar and Dandeli Taluks will remain closed on July 26. Holiday has been declared for some schools in Sirsi too. In the other taluks, tahsildars have been granted the authority to decide on school and college holidays based on rainfall assessments.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain alert for the Coastal region.
The district administration of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have also declared a holiday for schools and PU colleges in response to the IMD’s warning, prioritizing the safety of students and educational institutions.
