Mangaluru, July 11, 2023: Manipal Centre for Interprofessional Advanced Wound Care, a division of Manipal College of Nursing (MCON) at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), organized a hands-on workshop spanning two days on July 5th and 6th.

The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance the expertise of MBBS and Nursing graduates, as well as staff nurses, in advanced wound care through a collaboration with Coloplast India.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. N C Sreekumar, the esteemed Chief Guest and Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at KMC Manipal. Dr. Sreekumar emphasized the significance of teamwork and the pivotal role nurses play in wound management, as they provide round-the-clock care to patients. He encouraged students to remain motivated in acquiring new knowledge and constantly practice to maintain their competence.

Dr. Judith A Noronha, the Dean of MCON, warmly welcomed all attendees to the workshop. The growth of the center was eloquently narrated by Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, the Coordinator of the center.

Looking ahead, the center aspires to obtain external accreditation from reputable organizations. In addition to acquiring essential skills, participants were reminded of the importance of teamwork, a crucial factor in achieving success in this domain.

The workshop served as a valuable platform for healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and foster a collaborative approach to optimize patient outcomes.
