Shirva, June 27, 2023: St. Mary’s Shirva NCC Unit, in association with the 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi, organized the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26.

Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal of the college, in his presidential address highlighted the concerning trend of youth being attracted to dangerous drugs, leading to severe consequences.

He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the hazards of drug abuse in society. Dr. Monis administered the oath to the attendees, urging the youth to actively participate in spreading awareness.

Prakasha Rovers Scout Leader, Lance Corporal Anish Bhat, and several cadets were also present during the event. Cadet Anup Nayak and Vishal Terence Vaz provided assistance, while Adhitya H Shettigar welcomed the gathering and Gauthami V Karkera proposed the vote of thanks. Lt. K. Praveen Kumar, the NCC Officer of the college guided and compered the program.
