Laxmi Hebbalkar Calls for Swift Implementation of Government Schemes in Udupi District
Udupi, June 11, 2023: District in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar has issued a stern warning regarding the timely and disciplined implementation of government schemes. Any officer found responsible for delays or indiscipline will face strict action, she declared during a district-level officer meeting held at Udupi today.
With the new government assuming power in the state, Minister Hebbalkar emphasized the officials’ responsibility to uphold the government’s pro-people programs and uphold its reputation. She firmly stated that officials failing to fulfill their duties promptly and with discipline will face consequences.
The Minister instructed the officials to compile essential details regarding the number of eligible beneficiaries in the district. This information is crucial for the successful execution of significant government schemes such as Anna Bhagya, Grihalakshmi, Griha Jyothi, Yuvanidhi, and Shakti. Clear instructions were given to ensure the efficient delivery of these schemes to the intended recipients.
She urged the officials to work in a people-centric manner and emphasized the importance of remaining accessible by keeping their mobile phones active and being readily available in the headquarters to address any urgent needs. She urged them to expedite the sanctioning of benefits to eligible individuals, avoid unnecessary delays in delivering the government’s flagship schemes, and refrain from rejecting applications without valid reasons.
Addressing various concerns, including the drinking water problem, preparations for natural calamities, agricultural and horticultural measures, and sea erosion prevention, Minister Hebbalkar stressed the priority of ensuring the safety of school children during the rainy season. She also urged the prompt completion of footpath construction projects.
The Minister instructed officials to promptly identify suitable sites for constructing new buildings, allowing anganwadis currently operating from rented premises to be relocated to their own buildings. Additionally, she emphasized the timely disbursal of compensation for deceased cattle due to disease, availability of seeds and fertilizers for farmers during the rainy season, and timely completion of drinking water projects in the district.
Expressing her commitment to the all-round development of Udupi district, Minister Hebbalkar encouraged officers to recognize their responsibilities and work with coordination and a strong focus on the well-being of the people.
MLC Manjunath Bhandari, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Prasanna H, District Superintendent of Police Akshay M Hake, Karkala Division DFO Ganapathy, Additional Deputy Commissioner Veena along with other officials, including I.A.S Officer Yatheesh, Kundapur Sub-Divisional Officer Rashmi, and Implementing Officers from various departments, were present at the meeting.
