IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Coastal Districts
Udupi/Mangaluru, June 09: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for coastal districts until the morning of June 12.
Anticipating heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm, accompanied by thundershowers and gusty winds, the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are expected to experience significant precipitation during this period.
Furthermore, gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 km/hr are forecasted from June 9th to 11th. As a precautionary measure, fishermen have been strongly advised to refrain from venturing into the sea during this time.
Forecast for the State valid till June 10 morning: Rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.
