Karkala’s healthcare services get a major boost with modern amenities at Dr. T. M. A. Pai Rotary Hospital
New OPD Block and OT Complex inaugurated
Karkala, March 7, 2023: Dr. T. M. A. Pai Rotary Hospital in Karkala has taken a significant step towards providing advanced healthcare services to the community by inaugurating the new OPD Block and OT Complex.
V Sunil Kumar, Minister of Energy and Kannada & Culture inaugurated the new OPD block and OT Complex.
During his speech, Sunil Kumar applauded the Manipal group for its contributions to the field of health, including its efforts during the Covid pandemic. He stated that the modern amenities in the new facilities would elevate Dr. T. M. A. Pai Hospital to a higher level, offering affordable quality healthcare services.
The guests of honour at the event were Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor of MAHE Manipal, and Dr Sharath Kumar Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Health Sciences at MAHE Manipal. Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of MAHE Manipal, presided over the program.
Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh remarked that the new facilities have elevated Dr. T. M. A. Pai Hospital to the level of a secondary care center.
He also added that the hospital will soon add more facilities such as 24/7 Trauma and Emergency services and a CT scan, so patients will no longer need to travel to Kasturba Hospital, Manipal for secondary care treatment.
During his introductory speech, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao reflected on the hospital’s growth since its inception and the cooperation of the Rotary Club.
Dr. H.S. Ballal delivered the presidential address, where he thanked the Rotary Club Karkala and Dr. T. M. A. Pai for their commitment to providing advanced treatment to the people of Karkala.
Dr Kirthnath Ballal, Chief Medical Officer of Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala welcomed the gathering, and Dr Sanjay Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
The event was also attended by Dr Padmaraj Hegde, Dean of KMC Manipal, Dr Anand Venugopal, Chief Operating Officer of Teaching Hospital, MAHE Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, and top officials of MAHE Manipal and Rotary officials.
