Manipal: MIT gears up for Prof. Arthur Benjamin’s talk
Manipal, Feb 25, 2023: Celebrated mathematician and TED speaker, Professor Arthur Benjamin, is set to enthrall audiences at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) with his magic of mathematics.
The event, scheduled to take place at the MIT quadrangle at 4 pm on March 3, marks Professor Benjamin’s first visit to MIT-Manipal.
Fondly known as the “Mathemagician,” Professor Benjamin will also launch a new and unique B.Tech program in Mathematics and Computing, developed by MIT’s Mathematics department in consultation with industry leaders such as Infosys, Manipal dot.net, and Capgemini (UK).
The program aims to meet the contemporary needs of the computing industry and equip students with essential skills in research and development.
The launch of the B.Tech program is significant, as it provides a much-needed orientation to students towards research skills, which are in high demand in the industry. The program is expected to attract students from various corners who are passionate about mathematics and computing.
