St Mary’s College celebrates 74th Republic Day
Shirva, Jan 26, 2023: The 74th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at St Mary’s College.
The NCC Army wing of the college led the celebrations, with Senior Under Officer Mohin N Salian serving as the parade commander.
The chief guest of the event, St. Mary’s PU College Principal Amanda Murrell Sequeira, hoisted the national flag.
In her address, she emphasized the importance of patriotism in the face of the challenges facing the nation, and encouraged the development of a scientific temper alongside education. She also called for respect for the soldiers who guard the country.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Principal Dr Herald Ivan Monis, High School Senior Teacher Sabina Priya Noronha, HM of Don Bosco Higher Primary School Pauline Lobo, and many others.
Junior Under-Officer Dheeraj Acharya, Lobo Ann Rhea Neville, Company Sergeant Quartermaster Ashish Prasad, Sergeant Deepak, Riyana D’Souza, Corporal Riya Serina D’Souza, Lance Corporal Aneesh Bhat, Shettigar Hemashree Sudarshan, Cadets Anup Nayak, Alistar Sujay D’Souza and many others assisted the event.
College NCC Officer Lt. K. Praveen Kumar welcomed the gathering and compered the program, with Second Officer John William Vegas delivering the vote of thanks.
