Karwar, Jan 26, 2023: As part of the 74th Republic Day celebrations, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Karwar) under the aegis of Headquarters, Karnataka Naval Area (HQKNA), organized a cycling expedition ‘Tour de Mirjan,’ today.

The expedition began at the Naval Base in Karwar and traveled 50 kilometers to Mirjan Fort.

Fifty cyclists, comprising both service members and defense civilians from the Karnataka Naval Area, participated in the expedition, proudly displaying the national flag. The aim of the expedition was to honor the Constitution of Independent India, pay homage to the country’s freedom fighters, and celebrate India’s people, culture and achievements.

The expedition was flagged off by Rear Admiral DK Goswami, Admiral Superintendent of Yard, and it was a meaningful way to honor the 74th Republic Day. The tour ended at the Mirjan Fort, where the cyclists were greeted with cheers and applause.
