Web Development Workshop held at St Mary’s College

Web development ranges from developing a single fixed page of simple text to complex web applications, electronic transactions, and social network services,” said Dr. Soumya G Bhat, Head, Computer Science and Engineering Department, Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology.
She was speaking after inaugurating the Workshop on Web Development jointly organized by St Mary’s College and Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology today.
“Web Development is expanding its horizons. From automating web interfaces to developing mission-critical applications, web development is transforming dreams into reality. It is the responsibility of computer graduates to develop their skills regularly. Students who update themselves with the latest technological knowledge have vast job opportunities in the industry,” she said.
Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal, presided over the function.
“In the current era students need to meet industry standards. College students need to know the current trends and improve their skills to get better jobs,” he said.
Sahana and Soumya S, Senior Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology were the resource persons.
Lt. K. Praveen Kumar, Director, Information Technology Club, Head, Department of Computer Science, College spoke on the main objective and importance of the workshop.
Lecturers Prakash, Sushma, and Divyashree, students of the BCA department, faculty, and non-teaching staff were present. Rakshit H Kalmadi, Sampath Kumar, Yajnesh, Anup Nayak, Vishwas Prabhu, and Alistar Sujay D’Souza, students of Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology assisted.
Padma Shri and team offered prayers. Gaurav Bangera delivered the vote of thanks. Viksha Shetty welcomed the gathering and Rita Rishika Shetty compered the program.
