St Mary’s College celebrates Constitution Day, NCC Day
Shirva, Nov 26, 2022: The 74th NCC Day and 73rd Constitution Day was celebrated at St Mary’s College, Shirva today.
The event was jointly organized by the NCC Army Wing of St Mary’s College- Shirva and 21 Karnataka Batallion NCC Udupi.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) plays an active role in inspiring the youth towards patriotism and in inculcating discipline. Soldiers provide various training to the students in NCC.
Lt Praveen Kumar, NCC Officer, administered the oath and guided the program.
“The day is observed on the 4th Sunday of November every year. Indian Constitution is the best one in the world,” said Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal.
Cadet Sonali Kulal spoke about the significance of the NCC Day. Cadet Ulidra Khushi spoke on the constitution of India.
Loy Vinston Fernandes, Smitha, Corporal Ria Serina D’Souza, and Vijetha, who had won prizes in various competitions were felicitated on the occasion.
NCC Junior Under Officer Dheeraj Acharya, Company Sargent Quarter Master Ashish Prasad, Sargent Deepak, Riyan D’Souza, Corporal Manjunath Amaravati, Lance Corporal Aneesh Bhat, Shettigar Hemashri Sudarshan, Cadet Anup Nayak, and Alistar Sujay D’Souza cooperated.
John William Vegas, NCC officer of the school, Yashoda, Director, Students Welfare, and all cadets were present. Senior Under Officer Mohit S Salian welcomed, Corporal Ria Serina D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Sushmita S Amin compered the program.
