Police arrest accused in theft case
Udupi, Nov 06, 2022: Udupi district police have arrested a person who had escaped after attacking the police personnel last month.
Rahik (22) of Bhatkal, accused in a house theft case was arrested on October 19 and produced before Kundapur ACJ and JMFC Court. He was sent to Judicial Custody.
When the police took him to the prison at Hiriyadka, Rahik attacked the personnel near the prison and escaped from the spot.
A case under IPC 353 and 224 was registered against him.
Udupi SP Akshay MH had formed 2 teams to trace him. The teams were led by Kundapur PSI Sadashiv Gavaroji and PSI Prasad K.
The team led by Prasad traced Rahik in Mumbai and arrested him. The court has sent him to Judicial Custody.
The police team comprised Santhosh Kumar, Santhosh, Siddappa, and Chandra of Gangolli station.
