Manipal: MCHP observes World Occupational Therapy Day
Manipal, Oct 30, 2022: On the occasion of World Occupational Therapy Day, Dept. Of Occupational Therapy, Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), conducted a workshop on ‘Role of Occupational Therapy in Children and Adolescent Mental Health.’

Dr. P V Bhandary, Director and Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. A V Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi, inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Dr. Arun G Maiya, Dean, MCHP, Dr. Vinita A. Acharya, Head of Dept. Of Occupational Therapy and Shalini Quadros, Convenor. Dr. P V Bhandary and Dr. G Arun Maiya emphasized the role of Occupational Therapy and the importance of collaboration between the different disciplines.
The theme for World Occupational Therapy Day for the year 2022 was “Opportunity+ Choice = Justice”.

Dr. Vinita A. Acharya explained the relevance of the workshop topic in light of the theme. Creating opportunities for these children and advocating for their justice is something all occupational therapists should be reflecting about.
Delegates from Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala participated in the workshop.
