Manipal: Department of Physiotherapy celebrates World Physiotherapy Day
Manipal, Sept 9, 2022: On this occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, the Department of Physiotherapy, Manipal College of Health Professions, conducted “Physio theatre”- an educational competitive event, to enhance awareness and creativity among Physiotherapy students on Osteoarthritis.
The program was held on Sept 8.
The Chief guest of the event Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao, Dean, KMC, emphasized the importance of Physiotherapists in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of arthritis. The Guest of honor Dr. Anand Venugopal, COO- Manipal teaching hospitals, highlighted the role of physiotherapists in the health care system.
Dr. G. Arun Maiya, Dean, MCHP, welcomed the gathering. Dr. John Solomon, HOD, Department of Physiotherapy proposed the vote of thanks. During the program, the guests released an exercise prescription manual for patients with knee osteoarthritis for the benefit of the community.
