 Rain damage: CM instructs DCs to distribute compensation without any delay

Bengaluru, Aug. 28, 2022: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai instructed the Deputy Commissioners to distribute compensation for crop loss and house damage immediately.

The CM held a video conferencing with Deputy Commissioners and SPs of the districts that have been receiving heavy rains in last three days, at his home office Krishna here on Sunday.

The CM asked them to take measures to ensure tanks do not breach or develop cracks.

“A survey must be undertaken immediately and hold repair works wherever necessary. The districts which have big water bodies must be extra vigilant to prevent any deaths,” he said.

He asked the DCs and SPs of Ramanagara, Mandya and Mysuru Districts to allow vehicles on the alternate routes from today as there were water logging on Mysuru-Bengaluru National Highway due to heavy rains.

Other important decisions of the meeting:
1) Roads and bridges damaged due to rains must be repaired immediately. Officials concerned must work in coordination.
2) Public Work Department and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj must work in coordination to repair the damaged roads.
3) power supply must be restored whenever there has been disruption of power.
4) quality food must be served to people taking shelter at the care centres. Ration card must be given to them while they go to houses of their relatives.

Minister S.T.Somashekar, Dr C.N.Ashwath Narayana, Umesh Katti attended the meeting and shared about the rain damage in their respective in-charge districts.

Chief Secretary Vanditha Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Manjunath Prasad and others were present.
