Three arrested on Praveen Nettaru murder charges
Mangaluru, Aug 11, 2022: Police officials have nabbed the three accused who allegedly killed BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru.
The arrested are identified as Shiyabuddin Ali, Bashir, and Riyaz.
ADGP Law and order Alok Kumar told reporters that the three were arrested near Talapady check post at 8 am on Thursday morning.
“The motive behind the murder is yet to be confirmed. After the murder, they escaped to Kerala. We want to take them into custody and know about those people who had provided them support. We will also ask them about the vehicles used for the crime and also the weapons,” he said.
Praveen was murdered on July 26 in front of his shop at Bellare in Sullia Taluk. The police had earlier arrested seven people for conspiring and supporting the assailants.
As soon as the state police complete their investigation of the three main accused, the case will be handed over to the NIA.
Kumar lauded the efforts of the district police and also the teams from other districts and other agencies who had supported the police in nabbing the accused.
