Karwar, Aug 08, 2022: As part of ongoing observance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and IDC 22, Indian Naval Ship Vikramaditya under the aegis of Headquarters, Karnataka Naval Area organized a community outreach activity at Asha Niketan on Aug 6.

The aim of this activity was to reach out to the under-gifted section, who have always been an integral part of the naval community, Asha Niketan is a school located at Karwar for children with speaking and hearing disabilities. As many as 75 naval personnel, representing 75 years of Independence, visited the school and interacted with the children and staff members.

The school children welcomed the Vikramaditya team with a patriotic themed variety cultural program. Special children performed a silent act.

As a goodwill gesture from the naval community, the visiting team gifted the school administration logistics and support items for their day to day functioning. Various items of daily needs were also presented for use by the children.

This outreach by the Vikramaditya team proved to be a rewarding experience both for the team and the children.
