Heavy rain damages houses, cow shed in Udupi district
Udupi, July 06, 2022: Heavy rain has partially damaged 28 houses and a cattle shed in Udupi district. The flood has also hit the paddy crops in Hebri taluk.
Officials said that five houses in Udupi taluk, seven in Brahmavar, two in Kaup, 12 in Kundapur and two in Byndoor were partially damaged. A cattle shed was damaged in Tekkatte. The flood damaged the paddy crop of four people in Andaru village of Hebri Taluk.
A rickshaw driver and the passenger sustained minor injuries when a tree fell on the rickshaw at Neralakatte of Kundapur Taluk.
The district administration had declared holiday for schools and colleges on July 6. Heavy rain continued at regular intervals.
