MLA Khader visits flood affected areas
Mangaluru, July 05, 2022: Many places in Kallapu, Kotekar, and Uchila were inundated due to incessant rains on Tuesday.
MLA U T Khader along with the officials and local leaders visited all the flood-affected places and heard their grievances.
“We are facing a problem due to rainwater. But it is good that our MLA, UT Khader, visited and heard our grievances. We have told him our problem. He has directed the local authorities to take necessary action,” a villager said.
According to the district administration, 18 houses were damaged in the district (4 severely and 14 partially). The water level in Netravathi and Kumaradhara is increasing. At Bantwal the water level has reached 7.2 meters (the danger level is 8.5 meters).
A team of 80 SDRF members, 50 from the Civil Defence Team, 20 from NDRF, and 18 Fire and Home Guard boats are reserved for the search and rescue operations.
Moodabidri recorded the highest rainfall in the district.
