Gadkari lauds Kundapur-Goa border Highway work
- 173 km (92.42 percent) of the total work completed
- Remaining project will be completed by December 2022
- Highway passes through a variety of terrains with almost 50 percent of the length passing through rolling terrain
Udupi, July 02, 2022: Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari has lauded the four-laning work of the Kundapura-Goa border stretch.
Gadkari has posted his message along with stunning pictures on the social media handle under the title-World Class Infrastructure: The Foundation Pillar of #NewIndia.
The post includes photos of the beautiful Maravante beach stretch also.
“The project for 4-laning of Goa/Karnataka border to Kundapur section of NH 17 (NH 66) in the state of Karnataka is near completion. Spanning a length of 187 km, this stretch has the Arabian sea-coast on one side and the Western Ghats on the other side. Magnificent due to its scenic view, this project is an important coastal highway link between west and south India,” he tweeted.
“The strategic highway passes through a variety of terrains with almost 50 percent of the length passing through rolling terrain (45 km) and mountainous terrain (34 km),” he added.
Gadkari stated that presently 173 km (92.42 percent) of the total work is completed and while traffic is open on the project, the remaining project will be completed by December 2022.
