MSNIM organizes ‘AGNEYA 2022’
Mangaluru, June 22, 2022: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) organised ‘Agneya 2022’, a cultural fest for undergraduate students on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the institute campus in Bondel in the city.
The theme for the event was ‘Jhalak – Glimpse of 90s’.
The fest included contests like Dance Competition, Face Painting, Photography, Singing and Street Play. Students from 21 colleges from in and around Mangaluru, DK and Udupi districts participated in the various contests.
Dr. Rajesh Nayak, Director-Training, College of Banking and Financial Studies, Sultanate of Oman, was the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony. Sandeep Baliga, Partner, Sterling Kitchens, Mangalore, was the Guest of Honour. Popular RJ and matinée idol Roopesh Shetty made a celebrity appearance. Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, President, Women’s National Education Society, presided over the function.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Rajesh Nayak observed that participation in cultural activities like acting, singing and music can play a key role in the blossoming of one’s personality. He gave examples of Bollywood and Sandalwood actors who have turned their talents into profession. “Education is not only about knowledge but also about skills and going to a higher level of enlightenment,” he said.
Film star Roopesh Shetty advised the students to grab every opportunity that comes their way during their college days. He remembered his teacher, Gopal, who identified his talents and encouraged him.
Citing the success of his film Girgit, Roopesh Shetty told the students: “Whatever you do, put in your hundred percent effort. This will surely yield good results.”
The Institute Director, Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, welcomed the gathering. Nanditha Sunil, Asst. Professor and Coordinator of Agneya, gave a briefing on the event. Priya D’Souza gave a vote of thanks. Jyothsna anchored the programme.
Actor Vineeth Kumar was the chief guest for the valedictory and prize distribution functions. He advised the students to participate in all the activities along with academics and become all-rounders. “Winning is not important, but participation is important,” he said.
Manel Annappa Nayak, Vice President, Women’s National Education Society presided over the programme. Reema Agnes Frank, Assistant Professor, welcomed the gathering. Nanditha Sunil, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Agneya, presented the report of the fest. Akshaya B. Rao gave a vote of thanks. Avishma Alva anchored the programme.

5. Group Dance (Nach Basanthi Nach) – Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal (First Place); Upendra Pai Memorial College, Udupi (Second Place).
