Shirva, June 21, 2022: The NCC Army Wing of St. Mary’s College, Shirva, and the 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi jointly celebrated “International Day of Yoga” at Father Henry Castelino Auditorium on Tuesday.

“Yoga is an all-around cure technique. Yoga should not be restricted to just the International Day of Yoga. People will become healthy if they practice Yoga every day,” said Prof. Vittal Naik, in-charge principal of the college.

He lauded the NCC unit for organizing the event.

NCC Cadets Mohita N Salian, Ashish Prasad, Dheeraj Acharya, Riyan D’Souza, Vinol Noronha, Manjunath Amaravati, Shreyas V Kotian, Deepak, Suraj, Ratan Kotian, Shetty Tarun Ramesh, Janisiya Noronha, Elrusha Milina Disa, Riya Ann Neville Lobo Navya Acharya, Deeksha P Salian, Deepti, Rakshita, Nivedita Poojary, Riya Sarina D’Souza, Sera Mate Makwan who cleared the NCC ‘B’ certificate examination with unique grade were felicitated.

College N. C. C Officer Lt K Praveen Kumar guided the program and highlighted the importance and purpose of the International Day of Yoga.

Junior Under Officer Harshita and Suraksha were present on the occasion.

Cadets Anup Nayak and Alistair Sujoy D’Souza assisted. Senior Under-Officer Vishal S Moolya welcomed the gathering and Cadet Sushmita S Amin delivered the vote of thanks. Cadet Shettigar Hemashree Sudarshan compered the program.
