Heavy rain to continue in Coastal Karnataka for two days
Udupi, may 20, 2022: Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts will continue to experience heavy rain and thunderstorm. However, the intensity is likely to reduce, according to IMD.
Due to rough sea, fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea.
Heavy rainfall/Thunderstorm warning:
- Day 1 valid undtil 8.30 am of May 21: Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 115 mm. Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Day 2 valid undtil 8.30 am of May 22: Heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 65 mm. Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Fisheries Warning: Squally weather with speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Karnataka coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea during next 24 hours.
