Extremely heavy rain likely in Coastal districts
Mangaluru, May 19, 2022: IMD has warned heavy rainfall and thunderstorm for the next few days in Coastal Karnataka districts.
Heavy rainfall/Thunderstorm warning:
- Day 1 Valid until 8.30 am of May 20: Extremely heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 205 mm. Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Day 2 Valid until 8.30 am of May 21: Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 115 mm. Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Day 3 Valid until 8.30 am of May: Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Fisheries Warning: Squally weather with speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Karnataka coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea during next 24 hours.
