SDPI demands government to withdraw weekend curfew
Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2022: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has defined the weekend curfew imposed by the state as unscientific and politically motivated.
“In the last two years, the lockdown in the name of controlling Covid has played havoc in the life of people. Breadwinners of many families have lost their life due to Covid. The government has not come with any plan or package to help the people. The state, as well as Central government, have miserably failed in administration,” SDPI Dakshina Kannada district president Aboobakkar Kulai said in a press statement.
“Now the government has imposed weekend curfew in the name of Omicron. While the number of cases is increasing in BBMP limits, the state government has imposed restrictions on the entire state. While the government programs are held uncontrolled, restrictions are imposed on family and religious programs. The weekend curfew is filled with confusion and the state government should immediately withdraw it,” he demanded.
