Udupi DC warns strict action against Covid guidelines violators
Udupi, Jan 5, 2022: Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M has warned the shop owners of strict action if their customers do not follow Covid guidelines.
He visited Tiger Circle, Busstand, shops, and malls at Manipal today. While the DC warned the shopkeepers to abide by the Covid guidelines, he also instructed the officials to take action against those found without a mask.
“Shop owners should make appropriate markings to ensure that their customers maintain social distancing. Masks should be made compulsory and signboards displaying the message should be put up. The shops should not entertain those who do not follow Covid guidelines,” he said.
Kurma Rao asked the Malls to ensure thermal scanning at the entrance and allow only those wearing a mask and asked the local authorities to shut the malls which do not follow the preventive measures.
The DC also said that fines will be imposed against those who violate Covid appropriate behavior.
The medical shops have been asked to provide the details to the concerned authorities about those who purchase medicines related to cough, cold, and fever.
