State Govt proposes Narayana Guru Corporation
Udupi, Aug 23, 2021: The state government has proposed to set up a Corporation after Brahmasri Narayana Guru.
Minister for Power, Kannada and Culture V Sunil Kumar told this during the Brahmasri Narayana Guru Jayanthi celebration at Udupi on Monday.
Sunil Kumar said that the scope, financial grants, and other details of the Corporation will be discussed and decided.
Later speaking to reporters, Sunil stressed the need to bring uniformity in Naadageethe (State Anthem) and also the depiction of Kannadambe Thayi Bhuvaneshwari.
“At present, there is no uniformity in the tune of Nadageethe and the music. There is also a discussion on reducing the timing. The government will make a decision on this,” he said.
He also added that the government will take the decision on the depiction of Thayi Bhuvaneshwari.
MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Coastal Development Corporation president Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde, Udupi Urban Development Authority president Raghavendra Kini, Municipal Council president Sumithra Nayak, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, ZP CEO Dr. Naveen Bhat, Superintendent of Police N Vishnuvardhan, Bannanje Billava Seva Sangha president Ananth Poojary and others were present.
