Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Coast Guard Karnataka plants saplings
Mangaluru, Aug 14, 2021: The Coast Guard District Headquarters (Karnataka) planted saplings as part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.”
Seventy-five saplings were planted at Indian Coast Guard Academy Project Land, Kenjar near Mangaluru.
The Indian Coast Guard which stresses national security and the clean sea is also actively involved in the fight against air pollution and global warming by planting trees.
The program aims at emphasizing India’s glorious history and showcasing India’s development since Independence. Also to create awareness of forest conservation among people.
As many as 75 ICG personnel participated in this plantation drive.
In a press statement, ICG said that a special community interaction drive for fishermen is planned in the coming days. It will also hoist National Flag at various islands and lighthouses.
