CITU holds Padayatra in Mangaluru
Mangaluru, Aug 02, 2021: The Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) held a Padayatra at Mangaluru City on August 2.
The Padayatra was held as part of the nationwide campaign against the Center’s policies affecting the laborers and farmers. The nationwide agitation is scheduled for August 9, the day commemorating Quit India Movement.
Inaugurating the Padayatra CITU Dakshina Kannada President J Balakrishna Shetty blamed the Central government for its anti-farmer, anti-labor stand.
“The Modi government is damaging the economy of the country by enforcing anti-farmer and anti-labor policies. Instead of concentrating on the common man the government is protecting the interest of the corporate companies,” he alleged.
“Indian’s had united and fought the British who had come to India through East India Company. Now the laborers and farmers should unite to fight against the Corporate companies that are looting our resources,” CITU district general secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said.
