Mayor, Commissioner inspect progress of electric crematorium at Boloor
Mangaluru, June 19, 2021: Mangaluru City Mayor Premanand Shetty and Commissioner Akshy Shridhar inspected the progress and construction work of the electric crematorium at Boloor on Friday.
The electric crematorium is being given a facelift with ₹ 71 lakhs from the government.
Of the two electric furnaces being constructed, the work of one is already completed.
After inspecting the progress, Mayor Premanand Shetty said that the completed furnace will start functioning from Saturday. He also directed the officials to complete the second one in 15-days.
The construction plan for an electric crematorium at the cost of ₹180.00 lakhs has been approved for Surathkal and is in the tendering process. The construction of the electrical crematorium at Surathkal will commence soon.
MCC Corporator Mr. Jagadish Shetty Bolur along with Mr. Ganesh Kulal and other MCC officers were present at the inspection site.
