Customs officials seize gold worth ₹ 13.17 lakh at Mangalore International Airport
Mangaluru, May 28, 2021: Customs Officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized 262-gram gold worth 13,17,860 from a passenger today.
Based on intelligence and profiling of passengers, officials of Air Customs intercepted Siddiqua Miqdam Hussain (27 years). Siddiqua, who hails from Bhatkal had come today morning from Dubai.
On personal search and questioning, he was found to have concealed gold in paste form in his rectum. Gold 262 Grams of 24k purity valued at ₹ 13,17,860 was recovered and seized.
The Air Customs team was lead by Deputy Commissioner Praveen Kandi and included Superintendents Rakesh Kumar and Satish Kumar, Inspector Sandeep, and others.
