Narasimha Jayanthi celebration at Subrahmanya Matha

Kukke Subrahmanya, May 25, 2021: The three-day-long ‘Naraimsha Jayanthi,’ celebration commenced at Sri Samputa Narasimha Matha today.

The presiding deity of Samputa Narasimha Matha (Subrahmanya Matha) is Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, with a smiling face, conferred by Sri Madhvacharya to Sri Vishnu Tirtha Sripadaru- the founder of the Matha. Sri Madhvacharya has also conferred Narasimha Samputa, Vittala, and other deities.

The grand celebration of Narasimha Jayanthi is held every year at the Matha. But only the rituals were held today due to the lockdown and restrictions.

Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Sripadaru offered ‘Mahabhishekam,’ and ‘Panchamrutha,’ Abhishekam to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha in the morning. Mahapooje was offered in the afternoon. Evening Pooja will be followed by Ratri Utsava and Tottilupooje.

Hagalu Utsava will be held on Wednesday morning. Tottilupooje will be held in the afternoon and evening. ‘Avabrutha Snana,’ will be held on Thursday.
