Udupi ADC warns action against individuals entering Malpe harbor
Udupi, May 11, 2021: Udupi District Additional Deputy Commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu visited Malpe Fishing Harbor amidst complaints about the retail fish sale in the harbor despite ban orders.
Following COVID curfew, the Udupi district administration has restricted entry to Malpe fishing harbor. Only wholesale fish sale is allowed and individuals are not permitted to purchase fish inside. But despite this many people go to the harbor to purchase fish.
Additional DC who visited the Harbor today issued a strict warning.
“Police personnel will be deployed to ensure people do not enter harbor to purchase fish. Cases will be booked against the violators and their vehicles will be seized. Only wholesale activity is allowed inside the harbor,” he warned.
