Kateel Jatre begins
Kateel, April 13, 2021: Kateel has turned to be a hub of activities on the occasion of the annual festival.
The annual festival or ‘Jatre,’ of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari temple is being held from April 13 to 20.
While the temple observed ‘Dhwajarohana,’ today, various celebrations will start from tomorrow.

At around 4.30 am the Yugadi Deepa Bali will be held. Utsava Bali will be held at 6 pm. This will be followed by Suvarna Ratotsavam and Suvarna Pallaki Utsavam (Utsavam on Golden Chariot and Golden Palanquin).
Tomorrow’s special celebration is Yugadi Pooja (Sauramana Yugadi or Vishu) held at the temple. It will be held at all the 6 Yakshagana Melas at 5.30 am.

The archaks of Yakshagana Mela will offer pooja and then read ‘Panchangam.’

A special event Ramotsava will be held at 5.30 am. Kajampadi Subrahmanya Bhat will deliver a special talk on the occasion. ‘Kunita Bhajane,’ (Bhajan with dance) will be offered by the devotees of Muchur and nearby villages between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm.
