 First electric loco hauled goods train operated from Panambur Goods Yard

Mangaluru, April 11, 2021: After the electrification of Panambur Yard, the First electric loco (AC Loco) hauled freight train operated today. The train left the yard at 7.05 pm.

The goods train had 21 covered wagons, carrying 1,820 tonnes of Neem coated Urea
from Magaluru Chemicals and fertilizers (MCF).

It is being despatched to West Hill, Kozhikode, Kerala.

The electrification of the Panambur Goods Yard completed last month, (March, 2021). Expenditure on the project was Rs 8 crore.

Followed by this the electrification of New Mangalore Port (NMPT) yard is going to take up. The work is expected to commence by this week.
