Jammu, April 07, 2021: Kashi Matadhipathi Shrimad Samyamindra Tirtha Swamiji visited Veda Vidhya Kendra & Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra and interacted with the members of the Kashmiri Pandit community there.
He was in Jammu after visiting Kashmir for the first time.

While elaborating the lineage of the Sarswat Brahmins from Kashmir, Swami Ji threw light on how Kashmiri Hindus were persecuted during the invasion of Muslim rulers.

He stated that Kashmir has been witness to the barbaric killings of Brahmins and the destruction of the culture, heritage, and civilization of the aboriginal Kashmiri Hindus.

Referring to famous Sanskrit author Kalhana’s Rajtarangini, the Swamiji appreciated the intellect of the Kashmiri Brahmins and for keeping the historical past of Kashmir alive.

He also appealed to Kashmiri Hindus including Sarswat Brahmins to join hands for the restoration of the culture, heritage, and civilization of Kashmir and make the younger generation aware of their past glory.
Swami Ji emphasized that Sanjeevani Sharda can play a leading role in this noble effort.

Earlier, Swami Ji was welcomed with traditional “Wanvun” (Kashmiri folk linked to Vedic and Puranic period) by women participants. Students of Veda Vidhyakendra recited Veda Manthras.

Dwarika Nath Raina, general secretary welcomed the guests. Padamshree Dr. K. N. Pandita complimented Swami Ji for his visit to SSK and emphasized the common ancestry of Sarswat Brahmins and Kashmiri Hindus.
The programme was conducted by Dr. M. K. Bharat. Ganesh Mallya of Saraswath Samaj Delhi, R G Bhat of GSB Seva Mandal, Dinesh Kamath Koteshwar, Vedamoorthy S Sudhakar Bhat, Vedamoorthy H Yogish Bhat, Amith Pai Mumbai, CA Surendra Nayak were present.
