Kaup Maripooje: DC declares Dry Day

Udupi, March 22, 2021: Udupi DC G Jagadeesh has ordered the closure of bars and wine shops in Kaup and nearby villages for two days in the wake of Suggi Maripooje at the three Marigudi of Kaup scheduled on March 23 and 24.

Suggi Maripooje is held in the Tulu month of Suggi (Meena Masa usually March). As there are possibilities of people creating problems under the influence of liquor, to maintain law and order, the DC has ordered dry day by shutting liquor and wineshops at Kaup Padu, Muluru, Majuru villages under Kaup station limits from 6 am of March 23 to midnight of March 24.
