Customs officials seize gold worth ₹ 11 lakh
Mangaluru, March 05, 2021: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport have caught two passengers smuggling gold.
Officials said that based on Intelligence, two passengers were intercepted and were found to be smuggling gold by concealing them as gold foils pasted to the bottom of the makeup foundation boxes and plastering gold powder pouches in the armpits.
The two passengers- Kasim Ibrahim Kolad from Gujarat and Mohammed Bashar Ruknuddin from Bhatkal had come from Dubai in the Indigo flight on Thursday.
A total of 238 gms (net) valued at ₹ 11,00,946 has been seized. Further investigation is in progress.
