Udupi, Feb 14, 2021: Thieves have stolen about 600 bells including the one weighing 106 kg from Nukyadi Sri Udbhava Siddi Vinayaka Temple in Kundapur Taluk.

The temple situated at Amparu village in Kundapur Taluk attracts devotees who pray here and offer bells after fulfillment of their prayers. There are hundreds of bells of various sizes in the temple premises.

Police said that the thieves who entered the temple premises stole about 500-600 bells hung in the temple including one weighing 106 kg. They also stole about 60 aartis.

The total value of the stolen materials is estimated to be ₹2 lakh.

A case has been registered at Shankarnarayana Police station under the IPC section 380 (theft).
