10th std girl commits suicide
Udupi, Jan 22, 2021: A 10th standard student committed suicide at Chantaru village in Brahmavar taluk on Thursday. The girl is said to have narrated mental stress as the reason for this extreme step in the death note.
Anushri (16) is a 10th standard student of Chanturu village in Brahmavar Taluk. The girl is studying at Little rock English Medium School in Brahmavar. She was attending online classes and as per schedule went to school once in two days.
The girl’s mother who is working as a teacher in the same school had left in the morning. When she returned home at 4.30 she found Anushree hanging in her room.
Listening to her shout, the neighbors rushed and helped in bringing down the girl.
Anushri was immediately taken to a hospital in Brahmavar and from there to Manipal. The doctors at Manipal declared her dead.
A death note was found in the house where the girl has stated that she has taken the extreme step due to mental stress.
The girl’s father lives in Anegudde taking care of his elderly mother there. He comes home regularly.
On Jan 21 at 4.40 he received a call from his wife about the suicide attempt and rushed to hospital in Manipal.
An Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered at Brahmvar Police Station.
