Kasarkod/Padubidri, Dec 28, 2020: The two beaches- Kasarkod and Padubidri are now blue flag beach formally.
Udupi Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje in the presence of MLAs Raghupathi Bhat and Lalaji Mendon hoisted the blue flag at Padubidri. Uttara Kannada deputy commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar K did it in Kasarkod beach in a simple function.
Kasarkod in Uttara Kannada district and Padubidri in Udupi district are among the eight beaches given the blue flag tag in the country on October 11.
The mission of Blue Flag is to promote sustainability in the tourism sector, through environmental education, environmental protection, and other sustainable development practices.
The blue flag tag will help in placing these two beaches on the global tourism map.
